BUOY is a thrift store specializing in old clothes, books and toys, where families can bring their kids to learn that things do not have to be brand new to be wonderful, and to give to those who don't have as much as they do. Not all children are born with the same opportunities – which is why profits go to support children from low-income immigrant families.

The United Nations Department of Field Support is a large and relatively young department that provides support to peacekeeping and political field missions. A strong visual identity was needed to improve its visibility within the UN body and make it more recognizable, support its image and reputation to external parties and create a sense of identity within the department.
Limitations to the project included the need to align with the overall UN identity despite there being a lack of definitive guidelines, and the priority of keeping the tools easy to use, replicate and roll out. There was a need for the rebranding to be fresh, while still being relatable, modest and clear.
An arrow visual element was used to create unity within the system – conveying the goals of rapid, effective, efficient and responsible field support, it is easily translatable to new applications.
OCD is a pervasive but commonly misunderstood mental disorder, often seen as a mere personality quirk. It is in fact a real, chronic illness that people suffer from, and likely affects 1 in 100 adults.
Many sites for social causes and non profits suffer from poor design and clarity, which also affects its authority. My goal is to create a site that gives clear and accurate information about OCD to the general public to dispel common misconceptions. I want to create something clear, cohesive and powerful, and beautifully designed and communicated so its point gets across.
The Philippines sits on the western rim of the Pacific Ocean, the most active area for typhoons because of the vast expanse of deep, warm ocean water. The country comprises more than 7,000 islands, leaving plenty of exposed coast at the mercy of wind and rain. By international standards, the Philippines may be showing strong annual economic growth, but it's one of the poorest countries in the world, ranking 165th in GDP per capita. Any natural disasters deal a hefty blow to the country's finances.
This infographic analyzes the worst hit typhoons in the Philippines – visually represented in terms of frequency (layers in chart), impact (colors of layers) and compared with population in each region and GDP per capita. This piece was developed both as a printed poster and as an iPad application.
This branding project brings together the grandeur and beauty of China as a country rich in history and culture as well as a rapidly developing and growing nation, with a hardworking and resilient people.
There is elegance and timeless beauty in Chinese jade and porcelain artifacts, particularly white or “mutton fat” jade, as it is considered the most precious of all jade. Jade has been used in all periods of Chinese history and holds a significant place in its history and culture. It is prized for its resilience, toughness and beauty – much like the skilled athlete in action.
Jade is combined with elements of other precious materials – gold and silver – to form a geometric, snowcapped mountain. The precious materials represent the grandeur of the past. This combines with a clearly identifiable symbol of winter sports. The geometric qualities reflect the modern aspects of the rapidly growing country. A restrained color scheme of green, gold, silver and dark red emphasize ethereal elegance.
